Click on the timeline and scroll through the year 1987. Click on the circles as they appear on the map to view images of art in public space appearing during Berlin's 750th anniversary celebration. These sites include both West Berlin's officially-sponsored "Sculpture Boulevard," "Mythos Berlin" and "DIE ANWEISUNG" series, as well as independent protest actions from the Office for Unusual Measures (Büro für ungewöhnliche Maßnahmen) in Berlin-Kreuzberg and along the Kurfurstendamm in Berlin-Charlottenburg. Sites labeled in East Berlin reflect official art spaces in which artists staged art actions in 1987 and commemorates the opening of the experimental-friendly Galerie Weisser Elefant in June 1987.
